Can Dental Implants Go Wrong
Dentist claims he did Alveoplasty?
I had a fractured root canal wisdom tooth extracted. It took five minutes. Four to numb me=he injected a needle into my gum to numb me and waited. The it took less than a minute for him to pull the tooth out and put gauze there and then had me bite down. On my dental bill to my insurance he claimed he did alveoplasty. This is a long procedure to prepare one for dentures and involves a rotary drill, none of which was done or needed. The hygienist over the phone claims that he checked my roots to see if it was clean for a possible implant and this can be called alveoplasty. Are they serious? Doesn’t this seem a bit fraudulent to anyone. I know my insurance will be paying and it won’t come out of my pocket, however, I don’t like this. It is wrong and makes them untrustworthy. Overall I will be going to a different dentist because this is one of a few things I really didn’t like about them.
write in a complaint to the American Association of Dentists and ask to have him audited. The more people complain, the more of a chance he will have of getting caught.
