Are mini dental implants right for me?
I am 33 and have full dentures. I planned to have dental implants put in, but just found out that I need severe bone grafting done. I don’t think that I can afford this, plus there is noone in my area who can do it (orlando, fl). Am I a candidate for mini implants? Also, if I don’t get regular implants and bone grafting, will my face start to sag from having bone loss?
You will continue to lose bone as you get older, and will probably lead to you looking a lot older than you really are and eventually may not even have enough bone to hold in your dentures… Mini implants will still require an amount of bone to be successfull and whether or not they would be right for you would need to be assessed in the same way as when you were told you needed bone grafts.
Look into (if you weren’t already) getting implants to support dentures, this way you will require less implants, therefore less grafting. (you may need as little as 4 implants 2 for bottom, 2 for top) It won’t be like wearing dentures as the roof of your mouth will be uncovered and they will be fixed in your mouth.
